Privacy Policy

AthleteCard is made by Alfred Digital LLC. This policy explains in plain language what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

Account: your sign-in identity from Apple or Google (name and email, as those services provide them). We use it only to sign you in.

Birthdate: asked once at signup to confirm you are 13 or older. It is locked down in our database and never shown to anyone — including other athletes.

Profile and card: display name, sport, jersey number, and your card design choices.

Photo: the photo you choose for your card. It is reviewed by automated moderation before anyone can see it, and it is visible only to athletes you have connected with in person.

Activity: card trades, events you tag, reactions, and the points they earn. This is what powers levels and unlocks.

What we never do

We never store your location on your account. The optional event check compares your coordinates in memory and immediately discards them. The one exception is the event's own venue marker: the first athlete to verify at an event anchors it with coordinates rounded to about a city block, saved on the event — never on a person. We show no ads, sell no data, and run no third-party analytics or cross-app tracking. There is no chat, so there are no message contents to collect.

Photos and moderation

Uploaded photos are processed by an automated moderation service to check for inappropriate content before they become visible. If moderation cannot run, the photo stays hidden. Approved photos cannot be replaced without going through review again.

Who can see what

Other athletes see your card only after you exchange cards — by QR code face to face, or when you share your card link and they claim it with your code. A shared card link shows card art, first name and last initial, and sport — never your photo — and those pages are hidden from search engines.

Deletion and questions

To request account deletion, export, or ask anything about your data, email athletecardsupport@alfred-digital.com. Parents and guardians are welcome to write on their child's behalf.

Children

AthleteCard is for athletes 13 and older. Age is checked before an account can be created, and under-13 signups are refused. See also For Parents.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
