Kids cannot type messages to each other anywhere in AthleteCard. Reactions come from a fixed, app-approved set (emojis today, possibly stickers later) — never free-typed text. There is no messaging surface for a stranger — or anyone — to misuse.

A card photo goes through automated content moderation before it becomes visible to anyone. If the review cannot run for any reason, the photo stays hidden — the system fails closed, never open. Once approved, a photo cannot be silently swapped for a different one.

AthleteCard has one optional location feature: proving you attended an event. The check compares coordinates in memory and immediately discards them — your child's location is never saved or attached to their account. The only thing kept is a rough marker for the event's venue itself, rounded to about a city block, so other athletes at the same event can verify too.

Cards are exchanged by showing a QR code face to face — at practice, a game, a tournament. There is no search, no browse, no friend requests, and no way for a stranger on the internet to find or contact your child. If your child shares their card link outside the app, the person they gave it to can claim it with a code — always your child's choice; nobody can discover them.

Age is checked before an account can even be created. Under-13 signups are refused.

When a card is shared outside the app, the link shows the card art only — never the photo, and only a first name and last initial. Share pages are also hidden from search engines.

Blocking makes your child invisible to that person instantly — enforced in the database itself, not just hidden in the app. Reporting flags a card or photo for review. Both are two taps away on every card.
